Jordan Townshend is a Finalist for the 2008 BLACK TIE AWARDS
The Duncan-Cowichan Chamber of Commerce had their 14th-annual Black Tie Award at the Quw'utsun' Cultural Centre in Duncan.
The Black Tie Awards, co-sponsored by Island Savings, offer both customer service and business awards and usually garner approximately 150 nominations each year.
Of all the nominations that are received there are about 25 finalists and these are announced about two weeks before the awards banquet.
There are usually two or three finalists in each category with the exception of customer service, where there were nine finalists.
The customer service awards include employee of the year and volunteer of the year categories, and the business awards include business of the year, young entrepreneur of the year and home-based business of the year.
Jordan Townshend of ECOSIP Industries Inc is one for the three finalists for the Young Entrepreneur Award.
Jordan did not win, but he said that it was a great honour to be in the top three finalists.
