Our Team

Jordan Townshend – President

Jordon is one of the original co-founders of ECOSIP Industries Inc. Jordon grew up in Victoria and has been passionate about innovative building methods for as long as he can remember. This is reflected in his extensive library of building reference material and knowledge gained from taking a “hands on” approach to both business and construction.

His background is diverse from having worked overseas training new English teachers in Cuba to installing engineered pump systems and infrastructure for subdivisions. Along the way he never lost sight of his ultimate goal which was bringing green building into the limelight and moving forward.

Before undertaking ECOSIPS Jordan was adamant that there was a better way to build that didn’t just reflect upfront cost but also reflected the long term benefits of living in better buildings. In his spare time Jordan enjoys getting out and spending time outdoors in the Cowichan Valley and the Gulf Islands.

Don Livingston – Vice President/Operations Manager

Throughout Don's career he has been involved in the management of successful companies. His drive and determination even took him to the highest levels participating in the chefs world championship.

An entrepreneurial spirit based on strong business principles has enabled Don to maintain long term ownership of companies in North America and Europe as diverse as Catering, Logging, Importing, Manufacturing, Software and Construction.

Career Highlights:

  • Co-Owner of the largest logging companies on the West Coast of Scotland
  • Introducing new European-based logging techniques to Western Canada
  • Owner of one of the most successful independent restaurants on Vancouver Island
  • Property development in the Kooteney region of BC, Canada

His commitment to detail, long term strategy and a constant strive to improve processes and procedures sets him aside.

Don's values can be demonstrated by his belief in the following quotes:

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” - Bruce Lee

"Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not that one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one's ideas, to take  a calculated risk - and to act." - Andre Aiken, French Historian

Kim Johannsen – Marketing Manager

Kim and his wife, Jitka, have twin boys, Erik and Kyle and live in Cowichan Bay. Kim is a Danish Canadian raised in B.C. and served for 10 years in the Canadian Navy before settling in the Cowichan Valley. Kim has a background in Mechanical and Marine Engineering Technology and has been involved in the housing industry in one way or another for much of his life.

Kim is the Marketing Director for Ecosip Industries Inc., a natural fit stemming from Kim’s extensive knowledge and experience owning and operating one of the most successful real estate sales teams on southern Vancouver Island, The Johannsen Group.

Kim is also a land developer with several successful local developments to his credit and he sees from the developer’s perspective, the value and benefits of SIPs and building “Green”.

As the cost of energy continues to rise, more energy efficient designs and systems become more valuable. As Kim says about the future of SIPs “it’s a no brainer”. “Five years from now when electricity and oil and gas costs are through the roof, what’s going to be worth more, a house that’s 56-60% cheaper to heat and cool or a house that’s built more or less the same as it was since post WWII ? The SIP house will sell faster and for more money” and that’s where my real estate back ground comes in says Kim.

“These are exciting times” states Kim and he is passionate about the future of SIPs.

Terry Campbell – Administrative Coordinator/Customer Care

Terry moved to Vancouver Island from Edmonton eleven years ago. After settling in Duncan she met and married her husband Jamie. Between them they have four grown daughters and a son. Box Lacrosse is big in their family and they can be found most weekends hanging out at various arenas.

Terry spent many years working in Real Estate administration in Alberta during the 1990’s. After moving to the Island, she was employed in the paint industry both as a store manager and as an area sales rep working with contractors. Her extensive knowledge of finishes and coatings is a valuable asset to the company.

Known for her big laugh and bigger smile, Terry is often the first person potential clients will talk to at Ecosip Industries. She enjoys being challenged and takes pride in her attention to detail and it is these qualities that ensure clients have their concerns and needs identified and dealt with in an efficient manner.

Terry has a reputation for being very passionate about things she believes in and pours her heart and soul into these pursuits. “It is very exciting to be a part of this team that focuses on providing a better and greener tomorrow by improving the housing technology of today. The natural beauty of the area was one of the things that enticed me to move to the Cowichan Valley and gave me a better insight into “Going Green”.
